The main problem I have is that all the Mopar casting numbers I find are of the format XXXXXXX, but the numbers on my intake are XXXX XX-X with a second number that is five digits. We use the new, new Chevrolet produced casting for applications that require the factory Vortec head. Since its introduction in the late 1990’s there have been a few versions of the factory Vortec head. So I decided to go pull casting numbers to see what I could find out for the fun of it and to see if I had something off a 273 or a port mismatch from a 340 or 360 intake.
